About Baue
Baue creates limited-edition womenswear from thoughtfully gathered vintage and deadstock fabrics.
Every collection begins with the fabrics.
I collect beautiful textiles over time, then design each collection around what I've found. Before I begin cutting, I work out exactly how many garments can be made from each fabric so that it's used as thoughtfully and responsibly as possible, with very little waste.
This process is at the heart of how Baue works. It allows me to create small collections from exceptional fabrics that might otherwise go unused, with every piece made in limited numbers in my Ludlow studio.
About Anna
I'm Anna, founder, designer and maker at Baue.
The name Baue (pronounced bower) comes from the bowerbird, a bird that gathers and carefully arranges treasured objects. Much like the bowerbird, I collect fabrics over time, organising them by colour before composing each collection from this eclectic palette.
Drawing on 15 years in the fashion industry, I create clothing that's designed to be collected, worn often and treasured for years.
